NKBA New Mexico Chapter Becomes An Education Partner With Living in Place Institute

The Living In Place Institute has developed education programs that bring together industry professionals through a concerted process of program development and continuing participation. The focus is on the home and how all professionals can meet the current and future needs all individuals. These professionals include designers, home modification contractors, builders, developers and architects, trades experts, medical and non-medical care providers, real estate and home inspectors, product manufacturers and many others.

The New Mexico Chapter has partnered with the Living in Place Institute to provide a class here in New Mexico for local professionals to become Certified Living in Place Professionals (CLIPP).  This class is to be held on July 12th and 13th, from 7:30 am until 5:00 pm each day. NKBA New Mexico Chapter’s Marisa Saavedra-Gutierrez wins award

The winners of the NKBA Chapter Star Awards for 2017 were announced at KBIS in Orlando.  Marisa Saavedra-Gutierrez won the Best Chapter Secretary award.  This is an award given to one NKBA chapter secretary out of all the NKBA chapters.  She received the award for going above and beyond her duties as secretary.  She was instrumental in the planning of our first annual New MexiCon Designer Trade Show 2016.  Congratulations Marisa!

NKBA New Mexico Chapter Wins NKBA Chapter Star Awards

National NKBA LogoThe winners of the NKBA Chapter Star Awards were announced at the 2016 Chapter Officer Leadership Reception at KBIS 2016.  Our New Mexico Chapter won the Most Creative Chapter Membership Drive, the Most New Members, and the Largest Percentage of New Members awards.  These awards came with a cash prize of $2500 for our chapter!  In addition to the chapter awards, our Chapter Rep, Joanne Burns, won the Best Chapter Officer for Region 8.  Way to go New Mexico Chapter!
